Instructions AND SAFETY

CHECK-IN

You can check-in from 17:00, but on Saturdays the check-in time is 18:00. If you want flexibility with check-in and check-out times, ask your host about this possibility.

CHECK-OUT

The check-out is 12:00. Check-out on Saturdays is at 10 am. The tenant is responsible for taking their own belongings with them and leaving the property in good order. The owner will take care of the final cleaning. The owner or cleaning company will check the property at the end of the stay or as soon as possible afterwards. Items forgotten by guests can be returned at the guest’s expense and upon request.

Close and lock the doors when leaving. Please do not lower the apartment temperature when leaving.

DURING YOUR STAY

You can park your car in the car park.

We kindly ask you to read the house manual as soon as you arrive at the cottage. The house manual contains instructions and necessary contact information. If you need further information, please contact the owner.

Please note that burning candles is prohibited both inside and outside the cottage. Smoking and vaping are also prohibited inside the cottage. A designated smoking area is located in front of the carport. Thank you for your consideration!

AIR CONDITIONING

The air conditioning control panel is located in the entrance hall.

When you arrive at the cottage, check that the air conditioning is set to ‘Home’ mode (or ”Kotona” in Finnish).

The cottage temperature cannot be adjusted from the air conditioning panel.

Watch the video on Youtube on how to adjust the air conditioning settings. Turn on the subtitles!

HEATING

You can adjust the temperature in the cottage using room-specific thermostats. Please note that temperature changes occur with a delay of approximately 24 hours! You can also ask the cottage owner to adjust the temperature in the apartment remotely.

Keep the temperature at around 23–25 degrees. Never set the thermostat below 20 degrees!

Doors and windows must be kept closed all the time. Cold air damages the house.

FIREPLACE USE

The villa has an electric indoor fireplace in the living room. You must not light a real fire in the indoor fireplace.

The traditional outdoor fireplace is on the glazed terrace. Read the fireplace safety instructions in the house manual. Exercise extreme caution when handling the fire. If you are unsure about handling fire, please do not light a fire in the fireplace. Never leave a burning fire unattended! Make sure no flammable materials can fall from the fireplace when opening the door, as hot ashes and burning logs can easily start a fire.

The ash from the fireplace must not be emptied if the ash is hot. The ash must be stored in a fireproof container with a lid and store the ash container on a non-combustible surface. Both apartments have their own ash buckets for this purpose, located in the carport. Do not empty the ash bucket to the garbage bin.

You can also find instruction videos in the villa’s Youtube channel.

OUTDOOR HOT TUB

Both villas has an outdoor hot tub on the terrace. Remember to wash yourself thoroughly before entering the hot tub. Close the hot tub cover carefully immediately after use.

You can find the complete hot tub instructions in the house manual and on the cottage’s YouTube channel.

The use of the hot tub should always be supervised by an adult. Do not enter the hot tub alone.

USING THE SAUNA

Both apartments have the separate saunas and changing rooms.

Instructions for using the sauna can be found in the house manual and on the cottage’s YouTube channel.

A sauna must not be turned on without supervision. A sauna is always a fire risk and therefore no combustible material should be stored there. Never use a sauna to dry clothes or other items!

Please observe the following instructions when using the sauna:

  • You should always start sauna bathing carefully and monitor how you are feeling. Leave the sauna if you feel weak or otherwise unwell.
  • The Finnish sauna is hot: the temperature is usually 70–90°C. You can sit on a lower bench if you feel too hot on the upper benches.
  • Keep an eye on any children to make sure they do not come into contact with the hot sauna stove or hot vapour from the hot stones.
  • Do not go to a sauna if you have a fever or are ill.

You can find these and more information about sauna use, for example, on the infofinland.fi website.
